Call for Workshop Proposal

The 5th IEEE NFV-SDN conference, which will take place in Dallas, invites proposals for full-day or half-day workshops to be held on Nov 12,  2019 at the start of the main technical program.  The scope of the workshops is to complement the main conference program with forums for exchange of technical expertise, development, integration and standardization efforts particularly focused on areas of interest within the frame of NFV-SDN. Proposals from industry and academia are welcome, in particular on multi-disciplinary aspects. Accepted and presented workshop papers will be published in the conference proceedings and will be submitted to IEEE Xplore.

 

Topics of interest include the following:

  • Network Slicing in 5G Systems
  • Advances in Network Service Chaining
  • SDN and NFV Security challenges/opportunities
  • Portability and benchmarking of Virtual Network Functions
  • Edge Computing synergy with NFV and SDN
  • Machine learning for NFV Management and Orchestration
  • NFV-SDN deployment cases across vertical sectors
  • Validation and Verification of Network Services and VNFs
  • Testbeds and experiments with orchestration for 5G, vertical services and slicing

Submission Guidelines

Each NFV-SDN 2019 workshop proposal should be submitted in a single PDF file, and must include:

  • Name and abbreviation of the workshop
  • Names, addresses, and a short bio of the workshop organizers (i.e. OC and TPC chairs)
  • A brief description of the technical focus addressed by the workshop, the motivation for the workshop and why this area/theme is of particular interest at this time.
  • Technical Program Committee (TPC) and/or Organizing Committee (OC) roster.
  • The planned format of the workshop, including a strategy to facilitate lively and interactive discussions.
  • Publicity and advertising plan to attract paper submissions and attendees. For previous editions of the workshop, please include statistics of submitted/accepted papers and attendee numbers. For new workshops, please provide rough estimates for expected submissions and attendees.
  • A draft of a 1-page “Call for Papers (CfP)” including title, description, topics and dates.

Submitted Workshop proposals should not exceed THREE pages and should be submitted via email to workshops-NFVSDN@comsoc.org
